The Dancing
Gringo

A field guide to keeping our tequila premium, our voice funny, and our sombrero on straight. Smooth. Clean. Wild.

01
Positioning

Premium tequila that refuses to take itself too seriously.

We make an honestly-crafted 100% blue agave blanco — additive-free, small batch, genuinely good — and we sell it with a wink. The liquid earns respect. The brand hands it back with a shot glass and a questionable dance move. The gap between those two things is the brand.

Mission

Make the good stuff approachable — no ceremony, no snobbery, no reason required.

Personality

Confident but self-aware. The friend who knows good tequila and still starts the conga line.

Promise

Smooth enough for the purists. Wild enough for the rest of the night.

02
Logo & Lockup
Dancing Gringo wordmark

The wordmark is sacred.

The stacked "THE / DANCING GRINGO / TEQUILA" lockup — bold navy serif, framed by gold arrow flourishes — is our primary mark. It never gets redrawn, re-typed, or re-spaced.

  • Keep clear space of at least the cap-height of "THE" on all sides.
  • Navy on bone/cream is the default. Reverse to bone on navy when needed.
  • Never stretch, recolor the serif, drop shadows, or lose the arrow flourishes.

Color

Bone, navy, brass.

A desert-at-dusk palette lifted straight off the can. Bone leads, navy anchors, brass gold does the celebrating — used as an accent, never a flood.

Typography

Display
Bevan

Chunky vintage slab serif. Headlines, the wordmark voice, big statements. Sentence or title case — never full paragraphs.

Aa
Labels / UI
Oswald

Condensed grotesque. Eyebrows, navigation, buttons, spec labels — always uppercase with generous letter-spacing.

Aa
Body
Spectral

Warm, readable serif for all running copy and the occasional italic aside. Keeps the tone premium and human.

05
Voice & Tone

Deadpan about the fun. Sincere about the tequila.

Say this

"Serious tequila. Ridiculous energy."

"100% agave. 0% additives. Roughly 40% dad."

"Smooth enough for the purists. Wild enough for the rest of the night."

Not this

"The ultimate party tequila!!! 🎉🔥🍹"

"An artisanal expression of terroir-driven agave craftsmanship."

"Get wasted this weekend with Dancing Gringo!"

Confident

We know the liquid is good. We don't oversell it.

Dry

The joke is in the restraint. Let the reader laugh.

Warm

In on the joke with you, never at you. No punching down.

The Dancing Gringo mascot
The Gringo

Our mascot: an ordinary guy, sombrero, tucked polo, mid-dance, shot in hand. Always played straight — the humor is that he's dead serious.
